Ironus indicus n. sp. recovered from the soil around roots of rose, Rosa indica L. from India is described and figured. It is closely related to I. andamanus. from which it differs chiefly in the absence of the pre-rectum, the notch in the stoma, and the smooth dorsal wall of the vagina, this being verrucose in I. andamanus. The value of 'a' is markedly different between these two species.
