TY - JOUR AB - Oregon specimens (approximately 800) included with the monochids preserved in the Oregon State University nematode collection serve as the basis of this study. The synopsis is a taxonomic study of the accumulated Oregon representatives of the Mononchidae. Included in the group are many well-known and cosmopolitan forms, some that are rarely seen and have only been taken in a few far away places, and others that have not been described. The genera dealt with in this monograph include Mylonchulus, Prionchulus, Anatonchus, Miconchus, Mononchus, and Iotonchus. Species of these genera are described with listings of their dimensions, general morphology, distinguishing characteristics, and geographic distribution. The following new species are described: Mylonchulus exacutus, M. bulbiferous, M. orbitus, Miconchus oregensis, and Iotonchus oyatus. A list of references is given.
