TY - JOUR AB - A new species of free-living marine nematode of the genus Dorylaimopsis is described from the sublittoral sediment of the Jiaozhou Bay of Qingdao, China. Dorylaimopsis heteroapophysis sp. nov. is characterized by the cuticle punctuated in transverse lines with lateral differentiation of three longitudinal rows of larger dots in the pharyngeal and caudal regions and two longitudinal rows of larger dots in the rest of body. Labial sensilla very short. Four cephalic setae 4-5.5 µm long. Buccal cavity cylindrical with three cuticularised teeth. Amphideal fovea multi-spiral, 2.5-3 turns. Spicules arcuate, 1.8-2 abd long, cephalated proximal end with short median cuticularized strip. Gubernaculum with two unequalsized dorso-caudally apophyses, right one short and left one longer. 11-12 fine tubular precloacal supplements. Tail conicocylindrical with enlarged tip. An updated dichotomous key is provided for the 22 valid species of Dorylaimopsis.
