The Mysida dataset was started in 2000 in a thesis-project concerning the Mysida of the Western Indian Ocean. Data was entered in an MSAccess application called Mysidlan. During 2002 the datasets were transformed into the currently used system NeMys. Data on European was added.
The dataset is closely related to the PhD project of Tim Deprez, about biogeography of the Mysida fauna.
